Hi, all, there’s the second public meeting for the upcoming urban ag strategic plan in Philly coming up on the 19th and 24th. If you missed the previous public meeting, the presentation is here and the summary is located here.

Growing from the Root will be hosting two identical drop-in style events for Public Meeting 2. Come to either meeting, stay for 20 minutes or 2 hours, and get ready to talk about access to land, animal keeping, farming careers and businesses, resources for community gardens, youth and education, climate readiness and agroecology, and ways that the City can support urban agriculture.

Choose between two identical open house meetings:

      NORTH PHILLY: Thursday, March 19, 2020 — 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Lillian Marrero Library, 601 West Lehigh Ave, on-street parking with very limited accessible off-street parking available for folks with disabilities

      SOUTHWEST: Tuesday, March 24, 2020 — 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Ezekiel Baptist Church, 5701 Grays Avenue, off-street parking available

REFRESHMENTS and CHILDCARE provided. Translation and interpretive services provided upon request.

      This event is ADA Accessible.

      Please RSVP here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/philadelphias-urban-agriculture-plan-growing-from-the-root-public-mtg-2-registration-95444578303

Attendees are encouraged to carpool or use public transportation. For those who opt to drive, off-street parking is available at Ezekiel Baptist Church in Southwest Philadelphia, but parking at Lillian Marrero is mainly on-street. If you are interested in carpooling, visit this website to offer a ride, or request one from your neighbors.

      This is an all-ages event.
